I wholeheartedly oppose the redesignation of these greenbelt lands as this appears to be a clear case of using the political process for profit by Doug Ford. According to an independent investigation by the Star, (link at the bottom), a large portion of these lands has been purchased by a company run by Doug Ford who is now seeking to remove these protections so that land can be developed under the guise of helping Ontarians find housing. He is using the dream of home ownership, as well as his power in the political process to line his own pockets. This is profiteering. This should be illegal. Doug Ford now has a vested interest in changing the designation of these lands which would no doubt cloud his judgment about whether such a move is right for the province. Allowing this redesignation to move forward while these lands have ownership under Mr.Ford would be yet another failure of the Ontario Government to its people. As a Healthcare worker who has been continuously cut down at the knees while the Ontario Government gives itself raises and denies a healthcare crisis, I simply will not allow this Premier to benefit himself anymore.
