I'm a student in Toronto right now, who moved here from rural southern Ontario, and I am distraught at this government's actions.
I want to place trust and believe in a better future for Ontario and Canada, but I see more disappointing news every day.
This legislation claims to fix the housing shortage, yet it just funnels more money into a web of investors and companies to which the Premier himself has ties. Rather than follow the Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force report, the government is passing legislation that demolishes the environment and undermines municipal democracy, while taking away tools from towns and cities to effectively solve problems.
I ask and hope that the Provincial Government reconsiders it's decision, and more closely follows the report's recommendations.
