Under the reno rebate program I had windows replaced and insulation installed in my hundred year old house at a cost of $21000. I also sealed the house to eliminate air leakage. I received the maximum $5000 in rebates to help me make my home more energy efficient, safe, sound and comfortable and my electric and gas usage is 25% less than before the renos were done. Amazing.
I own a fourteen year old car. I had planned to replace it with an electric car and apply for a rebate. There was not enough time left before the cancellation of the electric and hybrid car rebate program for me to order one and close the deal. I cannot afford an electric or hybrid car without the rebate so I continue to drive my old gasoline powered car. I know I am not alone in this disappointing scenario. I declare that I would invest again eagerly to reduce greenhouse gases if the government of Ontario would invest in me so I could buy a clean energy vehicle. Please bring back this good for everyone rebate.
