I object to these proposals to remove or redesignate parcels of the Greenbelt. We need the beauty of our natural areas, we must preserve our plant and animal diversity, protect sensitive ecosytems, the safety of our water and the cleanness of our air. All these are put at risk by this plan.

This proposal will encourage sprawl onto our much-needed farmland and sensitive wetlands. It will create communities that are not affordable or serviced by public transit. Our housing should be affordable, mid to high density, serviced by transit and within the pre-bill 23 city limits.

This proposal looks very much like a conflict of interest for Ontario's Conservative Government - something they are legally bound to desist from. The land owners who are set to grossly profit from these changes are know to be extremely generous contributors to the Conservative Party.

It is alarming how this government is dismantling policies and practices that took years to develop - policies that protected the environment and made Ontario a beautiful place to live.
