Dear Ministers,
Under the guise of creating homes for people in Ontario, the government is destroying MILLIONS of people's safety and security. We are safe because we have flood control that is controlled by the Conservation Authorities, whose powers the government is gutting. We are safe because we have food that is locally grown. Did you know that it takes a VERY long time to make soil? Soil isn't something that is there overnight. It is a long, hundreds of years process to break down rock, add in organic matter to a depth to grow food. Have you ever tried to dig a hole in northern ontario? Don't. You'll end up with tendinitis because you hit bedrock pretty quickly, unless you are in a fertile area. This is what the greenbelt is. Most of the rich, fertile soil around the lake has been developed. Preying on the greenbelt that was created to KEEP ONTARIOIANS fed and safe is short-sighted and lining the pockets of Doug Ford's campaign contributors. This is DIRTY POLITICS and doesn't belong in Ontario.
There is not a shortage of housing on Ontario, there is a shortage of AFFORDABLE housing in Ontario. The idea that developers will create affordable housing is laughable.

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE GREENBELT. LET OUR CHILDREN HAVE A FUTURE, FOOD TO EAT, AND SAFE PLACES TO LIVE THAT DON'T GET FLOODED. We live in a beautiful place, that is safe. Please keep it that way.
