This is too slippery a slope. It is not good planning, not even smart growth. It endangers our floodplains and biospheres. It is a potential insurance liability, and flies in the face of climate initiatives. It is more importantly unnecessary: There is plenty of development land not designated for the Greenbelt in those key areas.
The only thing becoming apparent is development grifters - not honest, upstanding developers - paying off the government to overturn regulations so they can make a buck. Or the government only listening to party donators, not planners.
Dirty politics.
