Ontario needs more housing,…

Ontario needs more housing, definitely without a doubt.
Yet Ontario also has a problem with not being able to take care of it's existing residents (homes, healthcare, jobs, roads, cost of living, entire infrastructure)....So let's bring in more immigrants to increase the population....How is that sensible???
My question is....
Why chose to build them in greenbelt areas and/or protected countrysides???
Why destroy the Wetlands???
Ontario has an abundance of space to build, (it has no shortage) and each municipality should be allowed to enjoy the nature and farm lands in these extremely important areas.
