This is not only criminal, it is not actually going to address housing affordability. There is a mountain of evidence that there should be density intensification over urban sprawl. This is a flagrant case of Doug Ford and the provincial Conservatives enriching donors and their friends at the cost of real solutions to housing issues. There is plenty of developable land available at this time. There needs to be changes to zoning and incentivization for increased urban density. This is just going to continue to make housing unaffordable and put extra strain and costs on municipalities to extend infrastructure to cover these new lands
