It would appear that the proposed Bill has various changes proposed with respect to Site Plan Control legislation contained within the planning act (Section 41 -Planning Act). Some municipalities in the province (i.e Town of Carleton Place) however operate various development approvals through a Development Permit System (Section 70.2 - Planning Act).
Please ensure the proposed changes to s. 41 (exempting all aspects of site plan control for residential development on a lot which contains up to 10 units anywhere throughout the municipality, as well as, removing the municipality’s ability to regulate exterior architectural design and limit their ability to regulate landscape design etc.) are also captured in Section 70.2 and/or Ontario Regulation 173/16 as may be applicable to ensure consistency among municipalities operation under a Development Permit System/Community Planning Permit System.
