Although Ontario needs housing to accommodate immigrants and growth, I am vehemently OPPOSED to the use of Greenbelt space. The Ford government had promised NOT to encroach on the Greenbelt.
These spaces are so necessary for the environment, to prevent flooding, to protect wildlife and plant species. They are so necessary for our mental health as well, as demonstrated by the surge in walking and hiking during Covid.

We absolutely need more affordable housing but not at the expense of the environment. We don't need sprawl. We need in low rise buildings, greater density within our cities.
Please, please rethink this plan.
