NO to destruction of the green belt. Our green belt is a future lucrative bread basket of the world.
I strongly oppose this new legislation. One has the impression that it is resurrected from the previous century.
The projected land transfer does not take into account many factors, especially:
1. Permanent destruction of the farmland which now creates food for Ontario, Canada and the world.
2. Addition of the new infrastructure (roads, shops, sewers etc) will add a HEAVY BURDEN ON the actual TAX PAYERS.
3. Densification of population should take place within the city, not outside it. There is a lot of room for it. We need revitalization of the city core not the outside sprawl.
4. The considered dwelling should optimize land using and facilitate future development which is NOT THE CASE
5. Destruction of this green belt will add to negative effects of climate changes and it will strongly affect the water retention in Southern Ontario.
