Urban sprawl is not how we will improve housing. These will not be affordable and will ruin precious Greenbelt habitat and farmland. We need in-fill housing within cities to actually help the people who are most hit by the housing crisis. These people will not be able to afford a single detached home in the outskirts of a city that is driving distance from any immenities. On top of this, protecting the Greenbelt should be top priority. We are in a climate crisis and taking away carbon sinks and important farmland would be the worst thing we can do right now. Conservation Authorities are so critical to our success in this climate crisis, why would we give them less power right now?
