I am vehemently opposed to opening up the greenbelt for development. We all know that Ford promised not to do it and he has proven himself a liar. We are in the beginning of a climate crisis, as demonstrated by countless floods, wildfires, and hurricanes that have been happening in Canada and around the world. Now is not the time to destroy more green space. If Ford actually cared about housing, he would apply rent control for all rentals regardless of date, and would not allow above rate rent increases. He would follow expert advice from city planners and invest in sustainable development and density rather than more sprawl. Shame on Ford and the conservatives for lying to the public, for serving developer interests and profits over public interests and and environmental responsibility.
