I am currently representing a client who is completing an Employment Land Conversion in the Township of Essa which was started during the window of the County of Simcoe Municipal Comprehensive Review process as policy requires. I wish to be certain that this process can continue moving forward without any impact as we have been working for over 2 years with both the Township and County on getting the Draft Plan of Subdivision to the stage of a Staff Report to Council for approval in January of 2023. We have completed the Community Meeting and Public Meeting to date and are on our 3rd submission to ensure that all of the policy requirements that accompany an ELC are being met. There has been a lot of work completed for this project to date. The applications submitted are for an Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment and Plan of Subdivision for a mixed use development that includes a School Site, Commercial Site, High Density Apartment Block, Seniors Home Community Block, Townhouse Dwellings and Single Detached Dwellings along with a large Park block. We respectfully request that projects such as this not be affected in any way even if the MCR process in the County of Simcoe is stalled for now. Thank you.
