Destroying our Greenbelt will have devastating and damaging effects to all aspects of Ontario and even the world. Without our forrest, swamps, fields, and beautiful wildlife everything would fall apart. There will be no where for water to run when it comes pouring down, leading to mass flooding in these fancy new developments. Our forests and fields provide food, settle and protection to numerous important native species. Without bees, endangered monarchs, and other pollinators our food would DISAPPEAR. And with the cost of importing local goods is inflating, why in any aspect does it make sense to destroy what we at least have here. People keep complaining about unwanted interactions with wildlife, wonder why this wasn’t as common even 10-15years ago? The had space to be without humans. They don’t want us around them as much as some of you don’t want them around. But they were here first and they are what makes our home our home. We are part of the animal kingdom, we do not control it or have any right to. We need to refocus on a green with nature mindset.
Most Canadians are finding themselves in so much debt, especially after the last few years…more people are visiting food banks every month. This is not an economy or society that can afford these big new developments that not only push out our wildlife and nature but also the small businesses we all love. Please please please listen to the people, we do not want this. Look at the youth that are going to grow up learning about monarch butterflies and our native species just in books because there’s no more places to go and see them locally.
