On the practical side, the cottagers play an important role in the local economy, by patronizing grocery stores, restaurants, banks, golf courses, service industries (plumbing, electric, etc.) and many other establishments. The lease extension will allow that to continue, eventually, to work towards a more permanent agreement that will be mutually beneficial for the cottages and the economy. On the personal side, Rondeau is incredibly meaningful to the cottagers. For some of us, our families have had cottages at Rondeau for generations. In the case of my family, my young children represent the FIFTH generation to come to Rondeau. We love Rondeau and, because of that, we are responsible stewards for the park. Extending the lease will allow this stewardship to continue and will allow cottagers to continue to build memories and traditions that span generations.
