Removing land from the green belt is a terrible idea. We can accommodate more people in a more sustainable manner by building more densely on land that is already built on. The Ontario government should prioritize medium density construction in existing areas zoned for single-family dwellings. We have limited arable land in Canada that we’re losing at an alarming rate. Adding to the already terrible sprawl will only exacerbate existent problems.
