I am opposed to the destruction of 7,400 acres of Greenbelt land. This will destroy farmland that provides local food. it will also harm natural areas including wetlands that prevent floods, sequester carbon, provide habitat for species at risk and filter water to keep it clean. Substituting land in the Paris Galt Moraine will not help preserve the fruitlands in Niagara or help the watersheds in the Golden Horseshoe.

Since there is land available for housing inside existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside the Greenbelt, I beg you to not open up Greenbelt areas for development. We need these areas for our health, for food security, and to prevent destruction from climate change.
