While recognizing the need to address the shortage of housing, engaging activities to mitigate climate change and protect the Greenbelt are also important. Without a safe environment to live in, housing becomes a mute point.

I’m also disappointed the government has proposed this option after campaigning with the indication the Greenbelt would continue to be protected.

I do not support opening Greenbelt space for development. Ontario has other options, including building up, increasing housing density in areas where supporting infrastructure exists or can more easily be expanded, expanding north over less fertile land.
