Why is the "protected" land of the greenbelt to be amended for development when the housing affordability task force, the same appointed by the ontario government, recommends not developing?

Housing is not the only unaffordable element in canadians lives. So is food which is grown on the greenbelt's agricultural land.

Protection of the greenbelt is a commitment that we need to honour so long as the intent behind that protection is still valid, which I argue is now more than ever.

Climate change will test us with lower crop yields, reduced capacity to abate flooding due to development and proposing another sprawling inefficent development is short-sighted like many politically driven decisions not grounded in science or fact.

It is a very slippery slope to open up the greenbelt to development. Once one amendment is made to the greenbelt the next will be much easier and inevitable.
