The Greenbelt should not be touched for the purpose of building housing or building highways. Municipalities should be encouraged to adjust their zoning regulations to allow for more dense building within existing neighbourhoods. We are in a climate crisis, and should be looking to implement strategies to reduce urban sprawl and personal vehicle dependence. There should be an emphasis on 15-minute neighbourhoods, bicycle and public transportation infrastructure and densification of existing neighbourhoods.
