I want Ontario to have legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. I see this as one of this and any government's greatest priorities. Instead of scrapping a system which is in place with no plan on how to replace it, the government should first come up with a detailed plan on how to improve existing measures. I want there to be a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians, so they can lower their carbon footprint.
Otherwise, this is nothing but a thinly disguised attempt to get rid of any legislation that moves us forward in reducing emissions and developing a sustainable economy.
