Climate change is real. Ontario needs to reduce emissions of carbon and methane to slow down the damages affecting the world. Tax on emissions has been proven to be an effective way to deter polluters, cited many times by the scientific community.
There has been no evidence of the program being ineffective.
Many jobs can be created by supporting businesses to do retrofits and installing solar and wind with battery storage, and EV plug-ins around the province. Encouraging a "made-in-Canada" manufacture of EVs (personal as well as transport and public transit vehicles) instead of the fossil-fuel vehicles which our auto sector now makes would enhance our ability to meet this growing demand. Incentives EV was effectively promoting EV adoptions. The carbon tax was effective in supporting these initiatives.
