Everything we know about urban development and the cost of life in the suburbs should be enough to kill this project before it even gets started.
Suburban sprawl will only further the damages caused by the climate crisis. The killing off of precious green space and natural habitat are essential to keeping the rest of the Golden Horseshoe safe from storms and rising waters. Never mind that they provide food for all of us!
This space is precious and it is valuable and has no place being put on the auction block for builders. I would suggest that the province spend more time looking to intensify development in existing urban areas, making the most of the space in the sky, than give away land belonging to The People of Ontario for the benefit of the very few.
Paving the Greenbelt is bad business plain and simple.
