Don't scrap our existing climate policy without replacing it with something better! This is the most important issue of our generation. We need a serious plan, with binding targets, to reduce emissions and move to 100% clean energy by 2050. This is not only a moral and economic imperative, it represents a great opportunity for investment as well. To start with we need to end fossil fuel subsidies and redirect this money to support renewable and clean energy generation and conservation. Then we need some kind of taxes or limits on carbon pollution. I support revenue-neutral carbon taxes, with the resulting tax income being returned to citizens and residents as a dividend.
