These changes to the Planning Act appear to be motivated by something other than evidence. The need for affordable housing should be at the heart of the More Homes Built Faster Act. Moving to create work in providing more suburban housing that unfortunately impacts environmentally protected lands is the wrong way to go. This property that was previously designated as significant and is property which the premier promised would be left in place. In addition, the other schedules in the act that reduce the revenue to municipalities by reducing developer fees will create a burden on cities and make it harder to "build homes faster". The need to destroy these lands is not justified.
