The Ontario government plan to change over vast areas of the Greenbelt is flawed and inappropriate in several ways:

1. The Greenbelt is a region protected through Ontario Law.
2. Once developed, such diverse environments will not be recreated.
3. Not all the proposed 1.5 million immigrants to Ontario will require housing, and not new housing. Studies show that immigrant populations live in multi-generational households, predominantly lower-rent. Assuming 6 people per household, and 10% of immigrants requiting new housing, this amounts to only 25,000 new homes! A far cry from the proposed 1.5 million!
4. It is becoming obvious that the developers who are most at stake to benefit from this plan are in the pocket of the Ontario Conservative Party. This is Insider Trading to the most corrupt level! How else to explain the very recent sales of multi-million dollar properties within days of this announcement!

In short, the ineptitude and corruption this government is displaying in this proposal is beyond compare to anything the Ontario Liberals have done. Doug Ford and the Conservatives should be ashamed for even thinking about such a plan, yet alone trying to actually implement it.
