Doug Ford's proposed development of the Greenbelt is unnecessary and harmful. The Greenbelt exists to protect water systems, farmland, and natural ecosystems, and there is no reason to halt this preservation now. Not only does it sets a dangerous precedent for future development on the land, but it is also completely unnecessary. Yes - we are experiencing a housing crisis in Ontario. But urban sprawl is not the solution.
