It is a disgrace that the Ford Government is planning to infringe on the Greenbelt. The best farmland in all of Canada has already been swallowed up by urban sprawl, yet the Ford government wants to take more of it for housing. The housing crisis will not be solved by building more houses on the greenbelt. In fact, building more houses will create more sprawl and destroy precious habitat for the little remaining wildlife and agriculture we have left. There are areas within city limits, outside of the greenbelt that can be developed. Solving the housing crisis does not mean destroying protected land. Shame on you! These decisions are being made without the consent of the citizens in Ontario who you are supposed to represent. The developers, who fund the PC Party are the only ones who are benefitting here. It is time to make smarter, ore sustainable decisions. Once the greenbelt is destroyed, it is gone forever.
