I am very concerned about…

I am very concerned about the proposal to build houses in the Greenbelt for the following reasons:
1. The Greenbelt provides the type of large contiguous area that is import to protect wildlife.
2. Food security is becoming a larger issue for Ontario and the greenbelt is one of a few spots in Canada of high quality farmland
3. The Greenbelt provides a number of services to the province including flood protection and reserves of fresh water.
4. The alternate lands that are proposed are already partially designated as protected already
5. The traffic congestion from the additional urban sprawl will make travel times in Toronto even more unbearable
There are better solutions available including:
1. Changes to existing development to provide higher density
2. Making the 407 free for large trucks
