I strongly disagree with your proposals to make changes to the Greenbelt area. Here are my reasons why:

1) The Ford government does NOT represent the views of a majority of Ontarians. You won a majority government, but it had the lowest voter turnout since 2011. Only about 43% of eligible voters turned out. Of those, you won a majority with approximately 41%, but that actually represents only about 17% of eligible Ontarians. So over 80% of Ontarians voted against you or abstained. Stop saying you represent Ontarians. You represent only 17% of Ontarians.

2) The Ford government tried this before in 2018, but then there was the leaked video and the next day, you backtracked because of the backlash and promised to PROTECT the Greenbelt. Here’s the news video to refresh your memory:

3) Every article I’ve read about your proposal is NEGATIVE and will cost the taxpayers more money. Here is one example:
https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/2022/11/27/a-bleak-high-ta…

4) Every article I’ve read also indicates that these plans will destroy habitat and precious farming land that is necessary to grow food locally. Here is just one example:

So in summary, I do NOT agree with this proposal and I am sending the link to this website for as many people as I can find to help SAVE THE GREENBELT from this government. This will not help Ontarians, it will help the pockets of Doug Ford’s Development friends who contributed to the PC Campaign.

Regards,
Jennifer
