I oppose Bill 23. I believe it reflects values which I do not share, i.e. the adoption of "quick and easy fix" approaches to the solution of complex problems such as housing availability. Building more over-sized homes is not a strategy which is going to solve the housing crisis. As a society, we need to revolutionize the ways in which we organize our social structures including family living. The Green Belt is symbolic of our commitment to preserving our natural environment. Once the tinkering starts to erode its integrity, it will never stop until what we have been able to preserve and protect has been irreparably picked apart. Building on Green Belt lands is short-sighted and politically self-serving.
