We are two grade seven students who live in Toronto.
We believe that Doug Ford is not doing the right thing by wanting to give a section of the greenbelt to developers. The greenbelt is a piece of land and it shouldn't be separated. The greenbelt helps provide clean air for people walking past it. There are trees and homes where wildlife survives and the government just wants to tear them down. If he is willing to give up more land for the Greenbelt why isn’t he building on that land? We understand that Ontario needs more homes, but why is he taking away land from the Greenbelt as he made a promise to help improve the Greenbelt? If young kids see that the government is breaking promises and lying, the children will follow thinking that it is okay to lie. People voted for Doug Ford to be the Premiere for their province, and now he is not fulfilling the role he was selected to be. Many animals live all over the Greenbelt and destroying a part of it to build houses destroys animals' habitats, likely destroying their homes. We feel that if Doug Ford continues with this terrible thing we think that it will be the worst mistake he could possibly make.
