The greenbelt ensures the protection and continuity of the natural environment which produces clean water and food security for all of us in the GTA.
When gone it is gone for good, and so is everything else we actually depend on. Never before has been more primordial to preserve our farmlands, some of the most fertile and in short supply.

The proposed housing developments will not contribute to the affordable housing needs just will create more sprawl, car dependency, and not the kind of infrastructure we require for a sustainable future.

We should be looking at developing a thriving farming and local food-processing industry. That is sustainable, produces long-term employment, creates tourism, and will be more economically viable for the region.
