Cancellation of the GEA could see Ontario move backward on renewable energy when compared to the rest of the world. Scrapping the act could mean job losses.

It is not exclusively a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich. I see many remote and poor communities using green power where the cost to use fossil fuels would be prohibitive.

Why is it that fossil fuel companies get huge subsidies, yet there is some problem when green energy also gets subsidies? The price of fossil fuels is extremely volatile and puts Ontario at a large risk if prices go sky high. Renewables are needed as their price is relatively secure. The GEA may need revision, but it should not be scrapped. Don't use it as a scapegoat. It is not the reason for high electricity prices.
