Why in the name of all that is good would we put such a low upper limit on the required number of affordable units in developments if our objective, as a province, is to improve housing affordability?
Please allow municipalities and developers to work together to determine what the best mix is for their local context, and do not regulate an upper limit that is, to be honest, offensively low in the context of the affordable housing crisis we are facing in this province. At the absolute least, please raise the maximum to something that is more aggressive, like 20%, so that municipalities have the ability to work with the development community depending on the local context to provide affordable solutions.
