As a resident in Vaughan, here are my thoughts: I would ask you keep your hands off the greenbelt, woodlots, wetlands and especially the Provincially Significant Wetlands. The agricultural lands are definitely required for our food source, whether it be market gardening, the few traditional farms, or grain farming. In this area it is prime agricultural land, soil wise and growing period.
Wetlands are needed for flood management, and should be protected by large boundaries, such as fields etc. Environmental conservation and stewardship is important, protecting wildlife is important.
Why are you not focusing on developing lands long ago slated for development? Why are you not working on complete communities, and density?
In my opinion, using up the greenbelt will not satisfy affordable housing, as there will be no transit, shopping etc available. It will force the need for more cars, more roads, less green, less green living.
Why would you add more greenbelt to other areas, if it is not needed? What good does the greenbelt 400 kilometres from Vaughan do for the Municipality of Vaughan? What will the greenbelt miles away do for the wildlife in Vaughan?

Hands off the Greenbelt.
