What a bunch of smoke and mirrors. You can’t just keep pushing the green belt out, creating massive environmental impacts and then act like because it’s more, it’s better. More does not equal better!!! The planning act deliberately designated the green belts for specific reasons related to environmental and species protection. If immigration plans are expecting to increase the population then build more business and create more jobs outside of the city so that people can afford to work and live in the same town. Develop in areas not protected! Encourage businesses to promote remote work, and incentivize businesses to build offices in more rural communities. And to think this will increase taxes even further in Whitby is outrageous. We already pay far too much, especially relative to Toronto! When is this government going to get the hint?!
