I am opposed to this…

I am opposed to this proposal for a number of reasons. Fundamentally though, the government has not sufficiently convinced me of the need for these changes.

The Greenbelt was established for a reason. It was to be a protected area.
It was not and cannot be allowed to have pieces carved off at whatever government’s whim. The in these actions the government undermines public trust.

I live in Oshawa and the amount of land sitting ‘for lease’ or with fallen-down buildings is overwhelming. The focus should not be on removing forests or farmland, but repurposing land that is already used.
