Recently the Provincial Government's Minister of Government and Consumer Service stated "What we are doing is in the best interests of the people of Ontario", with regard to Bill 4. He did not state what would be in the best interests of this planet.
After reading the New York Times Magazine article entitled "Losing Earth" it is abundantly clear that urgent action is required to reduce the ever-increasing rate of carbon pollution in the atmosphere so that Earth may remain habitable for future generations.
The Conservative Government has promised to save the people of Ontario $256.00 (I may have slightly misquoted the dollar figure) but, in the total scheme of things, this is nothing in comparison to protecting this wonderful place that we all call home.
