If the government is truly trying to create accessible, affordable housing for Ontarians, there are better ways to do it. This is nothing more than a gift to conservative donors, at the expense of the taxpayers in the municipalities where these lands are located. If this government truly cares about taxpayers, they won’t make us foot the bill for development so their friends can pocket the profits. I hope that any communications between the government and the developers that have made recent land purchases in the Greenbelt are carefully investigated.
