Hello, I live in downtown Toronto, I understand the housing situation here and outside Toronto as well. But the proposed "solution" to housing by using areas designated as Greenbelt Lands is not a viable solution - it's short-sighted, it's anti-conservation, it's more about developers making money (who are the developers and do they have any connection to the Premier?) and it's really at odds to why the lands were ever designated Greenbelt lands in the first place - like, why were they designated if that decision can just be overturned? This process of using Greenbelt lands is cynical to say the least. My trust in the government decision makers is completely compromised. Why should I believe anything when this completely suspect action is being taken? I vote, I vote thinking it makes a difference, it ensures responsible government, and in my comment today, I'm voting again, that is, to rescind the decision to use any part of the Greenbelt for development. I ask the government to stick with its original decision to designate the Greenbelt lands - and find other options/solutions to housing challenges. I know the developers who have invested in this planned development won't like this, of course, because that's why they have invested - to cash in. But there must be other options then simply cutting up the Greenbelt. Housing will always be a challenge, this is understood, but this proposed solution is a huge mistake - there must be other ways to meet the challenge. thank you from a long-time Toronto resident, who owns a house in the core of the city - Corktown, and who is witnessing a city that is losing its entire identity to the construction of towers, each getting higher, closer, and more cup-cake in their design - in short, the City is a mess because of sprawling development - it doesn't make sense.
