Facts from these two articles: https://www.theenergymix.com/2022/05/19/ontarios-new-highway-413-would-…

https://www.blogto.com/city/2022/10/ontarios-controversial-new-highway-…

- Critics say that Highway 413 would lock in a humungous increase in climate-changing emissions and have impacts on the environment for decades further
- The highway would replace agricultural land and natural areas while food continues to be unaffordable
- The emissions of air pollutants would degrade the air quality and result in sickness and death for adjacent communities
- The highway will pave over 2000 acres of farmland and destroy 75 wetlands just to save commuters 30 seconds

Additionally it is unclear if there is a plan to consult with First Nations, including the Huron-Wendat, whose land, and physical and cultural heritage will be affected. How will Indigenous Knowledge be incorporated into the highway plans? I cannot support this project, and it seems as if the majority of Ontario residents would agree.
