Doug Ford has lied to us…

Doug Ford has lied to us again. In 2018 he said that he would NOT touch the Greenbelt. He has lied.
The fact that we have ENOUGH land to build homes is being ignored. It is AFFORDABLE housing that is required and there IS land to do this, however, parcels of land such as Grimsby by Lake Ontario have been included in this debacle. Believe me, this will NOT be affordable housing on the edge of Lake Ontario. Houses there already start in the $800-$900K range. Hardly affordable.
Doug Ford is forcing the costs of infrastructure upgrades down to me - the taxpayer - because I happen to live in Grimsby - where the taxpayers will have to supplement the costs that he is forcing on us. I am on a fixed pension. I may have to start looking to sell my house and MOVE from this town due to what is going to happen to our taxes. We do NOT have significant reserves to pay for the infrastructure when it is due for renewal in 20 years.
The areas in Grimsby where he plans to build homes is in a FLOODPLAIN. Will this be disclosed to homeowners by the developers??? NOT LIKELY!!! I saw today that the Federal Government very wisely stated that if Ontario goes ahead and builds all these non-affordable homes in the floodplains. So guess what Ontario?? WE, the taxpayers, will have to foot the bill for damages because of this ridiculous non-plan.
Last point? There should be a investigation into the purchase of these lands in the last few months by huge supporters to the Ontario 'CON' party. If the investigation/audit uncovers wrong-doing, Doug Ford and his Minister of Municipal Affairs should be investigate and held accountable.
This is a travesty to Ontario. Shame on you.
