Creating a new highway will be both beneficial to society, and consequential for the environment. A multitude of factors must be accounted for before making a large decision such as this including the number of carbon emissions that may increase, as well as the land being stolen from the greenbelt. A new highway may reduce traffic and accidents. As well if cars are becoming electric, may only have negative impacts on the environment through deforestation etc. These pros and cons must be evaluated carefully before making rash decisions which have direct impacts on the world we are living in.
