Ontario's own Housing Affordability Task Force has already found that there is enough land available to build 1.5 million homes without taking any land out of the Greenbelt. This proposal states that it would only result in about 50,000 houses being built, which is less than 5% of the needed 1.5 million houses. There is no justifiable reason to remove land from the Greenbelt. Lands set aside for conservation and farming should never be open for development.
