I’m writing to express my opposition to Bill 23. This bill goes against the Ford government’s promise not to build on the Greenbelt, and appears to be a shameless concession to the Premier’s developer donors for their personal gain. The plan will not meaningfully address the affordable housing crisis, and will destroy Curitiba farmland as well as wildlife and the watershed. The downs team affects on our food system and resilience to climate change and extreme weather will be severe. Flooding and greenhouse emissions will increase as a direct result of this plan, and our ability to grow food for ourselves will be diminished. Please do not allow this bill to proceed.
