To the people making decisions on my behalf ......

Please leave OUR lands protected by previous legislation alone when identifying space 1) for affordable housing and 2) for large, private estates that the developers who have lots of money could otherwise find land for outside OUR protected areas.

Consider the mental health of the residents who already live in the communities adjacent to and or near the greenbelt and other protected natural spaces (the Moraine for example). Their opportunity to get out of the rat race of the GTA for a walk or bike ride in order to be able to face the stresses and anxiety of living in traffic, and noise, and pavement, and the crush of people. Green spaces are extremely important to human life and health, as the experts have pointed out to us for generations. Keep what we have and add to it if possible.

Most importantly, once a habitat is removed it can NEVER be replaced. The wildlife of air, water and land cannot just pack a bag and move to another home. They die. There are no more hatchlings to revive the habitat or carry on the species. Humans do not need to be so ignorant as to take away life that gives us the clean environment we have today. We are supposed to be intelligent.

I am against any lands being removed from the Greenbelt or any of the lands identified by our experts in the field. Adding to those spaces is a marvelous idea, one that our grandchildren and great grandchildren will benefit from in their lives. Find other ways to provide the needed affordable housing and let the rich folks stay where they are or go elsewhere.

Don't mess with the designated greenspaces.
