Somehow, you, Premier Ford, must reverse these destructive, undemocratic laws forcing expansion of housing into farmland and destroying what is left of natural woodlands by building a super highway instead of bolstering public transit and increasing housing within existing city boundaries. I would suggest increasing housing by tearing down ramshackle neighbourhoods of tiny houses & postage stamp sized lots in Toronto and building 5 story apartment buildings with retail space at the ground level and units of a decent size where families can live in comfort. I would also suggest putting a stop to the construction of more monstrous high-rises with closet-sized units. That would create beautiful cityscapes such as those in Paris and Barcelona. The mayor of Paris has been working to make that city more livable. We should consult with her. As a taxpayer, I would be happy to buy up all the land developers have invested in for future profit. I would rather my tax dollars went to that than to building highways and other structures, I suspect, like Premier Harris, then selling them to private interests. That should be made illegal! Those assets belong to the public!! The environment & the health of the environment belong to the people. We cannot breathe concrete & asphalt. Think of what foreign corporations will charge Ontario's for food when we are unable to grow our own!! It is so disheartening to see devastation of the environment march along faster than conservation efforts. We are marching blindly toward our own destruction. That will be your political legacy.
