The proposed changes to the Greenbelt area are the beginning of the encroachment of development into this sensitive ecosystem. The development of housing will continue once this initial stage is approved. This has been the pattern of housing development in the past and you can't convince or assure me that it won't be the pattern in this case.
Added to this concern is my disbelief that after problems with food supply and distribution during the pandemic you are now eager to destroy farmland, making us all the more dependent on outside sources for our food.
You can build houses in other places, but once farmland is destroyed it is destroyed forever.
What kind of example are you setting for your children when you break a promise to maintain the Greenbelt and, in the process, jeopardize a secure source of food? And all for the sake of the short-term goal of money? Tricia
